Social Media on Android Tablet Devices

The sessions in this course are specifically designed to turn you into an expert on social media in the classroom. Sessions 1-3 introduce you to social media, take you through the process of setting up your social media accounts, and investigates the educational benefits of using social media in the classroom. Sessions 4-9 explore each social media platform in-depth, and will teach you how to effectively use these platforms in your class – and make social media more than just fun in the classroom. This course consists of 9 sessions.

• Session 1: Introducing social media – Learn what social media is, and what the different social media platforms are, as well as how to use it responsibly.
• Session 2: Creating your social media accounts – Learn about creating your social media accounts, personalising them, and using them to post, tweet and pin!
• Session 3: Social media in the classroom: Useful or just fun? – Learn about different pedagogies for using technology in the classroom, with a specific focus on social media.
• Session 4: Don’t forget the other social media – Learn about Pinterest, WeChat and LinkedIn, and how to use these innovative platforms in your class.
• Session 5: Facebook in the classroom – Learn about how to use Facebook in your classroom for educational purposes with the right pedagogical approach.
• Session 6: Twitter in the classroom – Learn about how to use Twitter in your classroom for educational purposes with the right pedagogical approach.
• Session 7: A look at YouTube – Learn about the video watching and sharing social media platform YouTube and how it works.
• Session 8: YouTube in the classroom – Learn about how to use YouTube in your classroom for educational purposes with the right pedagogical approach.
• Session 9: Blogging in the classroom – Learn about how to use blogging in your classroom for educational purposes with the right pedagogical approach.
